Data Deletion Request
Effective date: 6 September 2026
You can ask us to delete information we hold about you at any time, including anything you sent to our WhatsApp business number. This page explains what to send, where to send it, and what happens next. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which describes the wider picture of what we handle and why.
How to make a request
Email hello@pocketledger.ae with the subject line Data deletion request, or send the words delete my data to our WhatsApp business number from the number you used to message us. Please include:
- your name, and the business name if you contacted us for one;
- the WhatsApp number, email address, or both that you used with us, so we can find the right records;
- what you want deleted — everything, or a specific conversation, document, or enquiry.
We may need to verify your identity and your authority to act for the business before we delete anything. That check exists to stop someone else erasing your records.
What we delete
Where no overriding retention duty applies, a deletion request covers the information we obtained about you directly and through the WhatsApp Business Platform, including:
- your WhatsApp phone number and the link that associates it with a person and a business in our system;
- the stored conversation — inbound and outbound message content, message identifiers, and timestamps;
- photos, documents, and voice notes you sent, together with the files kept in our document storage;
- enquiry and contact details you sent us by email or through the website.
What we may have to keep
If we have provided an accounting service, some records cannot be deleted on request. Accounting, tax, anti-fraud, and other legal retention duties apply to books, filings, and the documents that support them, and we may also retain what is needed to establish or defend a legal claim. Where that applies we delete what we can, tell you what we kept and why, and delete the remainder once the duty ends. Aggregate website measurement that cannot be traced back to an individual is unaffected.
Stopping WhatsApp messages without deleting
If you only want the channel switched off, ask us to unlink your number. Unlinking stops us accepting further messages from it and stops reminders being sent to it, while leaving business records already filed in place. You can ask for deletion later.
What happens next
We acknowledge requests by email, and aim to complete them within 30 days of verifying who you are. If a request is complex enough to need longer, we will tell you before that period ends and explain why. There is no charge for a reasonable request.
